Washington [US], August 24 (ANI): Jonathan Bailey has wrapped filming on Netflix’s upcoming feature film about the landmark Johnson v. Monsanto trial, with the John Lee Hancock-directed courtroom drama scheduled to arrive on the streaming platform in 2027.

Bailey confirmed the production wrap on social media, sharing a behind-the-scenes photograph from the set and praising Hancock, the cast and crew.

“With the brilliant John Lee Hancock. Today is a wrap on his film about the Johnson v. Monsanto trial. An incredible cast and crew. A vital story,” the actor wrote in a social media post.

As per Netflix, the film centres on the legal battle surrounding Monsanto and its glyphosate-based weedkiller Roundup, following lawsuits that alleged the product caused severe health issues.

The project focuses on the social and political dimensions of the historic Johnson v. Monsanto cancer lawsuit and the wider questions of corporate liability and public health.

Hancock, known for his work as a filmmaker, directs the biographical drama, which features an ensemble cast led by Bailey. Laura Dern, Lakeith Stanfield and Greg Kinnear are also among the cast highlights.

Production included filming in Europe, including Germany, as the project took shape ahead of its planned 2027 release.

The project is being produced in partnership with Netflix and is expected to premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2027.

Further details about the film’s exact release date have not been provided. (ANI)
