Washington DC [US], June 30 (ANI): Actor Tania Raymonde will headline the upcoming horror-comedy musical ‘Eat Your Heart Out’, alongside Brian Austin Green, Steve Agee, Breanna Yde and an ensemble cast, the makers have announced, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the feature has wrapped production and is currently in post-production. Written and directed by Taylor Morden, ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ is inspired by real-world headlines involving bath salts and is set in a small town preparing to host a major music festival when a dangerous new party drug begins spreading among local youngsters.

The drug promises intense highs but comes with horrifying side effects, including uncontrollable rage, superhuman strength and an appetite for human flesh. Amid the chaos, best friends Jules, played by Tania Raymonde, and Rory, played by Breanna Yde, prepare for their punk band’s first major performance while trying to survive a town overrun by flesh-eating demons.

Expressing her excitement about the project, Raymonde said, “Those were two huge bucket-list things I wanted to check off, and you almost never get to do both in the same movie,” as per the outlet.

“Getting to be a rock star, play music and kill zombies … I mean, what else do you need? It’s kind of the perfect film,” she added.

The ensemble cast also includes Jesse Rath, Emily Kimball, Rob Huebel, Clare Grant and Brendan Sexton III.

Morden, who previously directed the 2020 documentary ‘The Last Blockbuster’, helmed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Emily Claire. The duo also serves as producers, while Raymonde, Jaice DuMars and Robert Trevino are among the executive producers.

The film, produced by PopMotion Pictures, features original musical performances woven into its horror-comedy narrative and relies on practical effects. It was filmed over five weeks in and around Eugene, Oregon.

Sharing his vision for the project, Morden said, “‘Eat Your Heart Out’ combines everything I love about movies: practical effects, absurd comedy, rad musical numbers and a surprisingly heartfelt story about friendship and finding your place in the world.”

“It’s the kind of movie I would’ve rented a hundred times from the local video store,” he added, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (ANI)
